By far the most popular grit for tool room use, white grit wheels are excellent for most hardened steels (Rockwell 'C' 50+). White grit is friable and breaks down quickly to avoid burning. Excellent where good surface finish is required. Typically wheel life is not an issue - wheel life is sacrificed for cool grinding and excellent surface finish. Finish grits are typically 80+ and roughing grits are 36-54 grit. Can be run wet or dry.
